And…go! Improv COmedy

2011 - 2014

From 2011 to 2014, I was a member of an improv troupe, "And...Go!". I started as a performer, but quickly became more involved in the business side of things. Soon I was the main graphic designer. In 2013, I rebuilt their website from scratch, providing 100% of the art assets (other than the original logo). Sadly, like the website, the team is now defunct as we all moved on to bigger, better things (click here to see an archived walkthrough of the site).

MY CONTRIBUTIONS:

  • Created marketing materials

  • Built website from ground up

  • Logo designs

  • Hosted shows as emcee

  • Improv stage acting

  • Video production and direction

LOGO WORK

NOTE: I DID NOT CREATE THE ORIGINAL LOGO

After the logo was created, I updated it for various reasons (special shows, branding, etc.).

POSTERS & PROMOTIONALS

During my time, I made multiple posters. They were mostly used during our time at the Murray Historic Theater, which included a 10ft outdoor window banner, advertisements inside show programs, and fliers for upcoming shows.

Other images were used for the website to promote us and our recorded shows for YouTube.

we do it better, together!

The phrase comes from our performances, as we try to make each actor look better on stage, rather than showboating to be the best and funniest. It also came at a time when our shows became focused on being fundraisers for various charities (The Road Home. Utah AIDS Foundation, etc).

Along with the design work, we also developed three web videos to promote the group. Each one was produced and directed by myself and my wife. She also edited the final products. I star in third video, "Girls Night". I created the typeface for the preview images, which are themed after the songs in the videos; The Best Around (The Karate Kid), Friends (Queen - A Night at the Opera), and Girls Night (Cyndi Lauper - She’s So Unusual).

Podcast

In addition of everything else, we recorded a monthly podcast. I recorded and edited each episode, as well as handled all hosting duties (via Podbean). I also designed the podcast cover art.
