IT Was A Sh*t Show

2020 - Present

With my ten WTF Happened To This Movie? videos surpassing 9 million (?!) views, I decided to launch the series as a stand alone YouTube channel. On April 29th, 2020, I launched It Was A Sh*t Show. Like WTF, the series covers productions that turned into nightmares, be it a movie, tv show or even a video game. As an added bonus, the series isn’t just the video documentaries, but also a companion, conversational podcast.

On April 13th, 2022, nearly two years after launching, I posted the Batman Begins video… and I was finally blessed by the YouTube algorithm. The video exploded, reaching 900k views in one month (now at 2.5 million). This of course brought attention to the channel in a big way, gaining 10k subscribers in one week, and the rest of the videos surged in views. By October 2022, views jumped 6000%, we reached 100,000 subscribers, and three videos crossed 1 million (with an average of 700k).

Today, we have over 180,000 subscribers and the channel as a whole has reached over 20 million views (with seven videos surpassing 1 million views each).

All these episodes are also posted as a podcast (with over 400k downloads).

It Was A Sh*t Show: A Video & Podcast Series

The videos are a tight 20 minute story (scripted and narrated by myself). Using behind the scenes footage, interview clips, and silly cut aways, I detail a truly bonkers production, that (I hope) is compelling enough to pull you through the entire video.

The podcast is a roughly hour long conversation about a production, that lends itself more to a discussion. I am joined by my two co-hosts, Clint and Rae, as we appropriately razz the nonsense that occurred.
